The 49% RH Boveda are designed specifically to maintain wooden instruments (and their oftentimes wood-containing cases). This makes them a little different than our typical formulas which are accurate to +/- 1% RH (or lower).
For wooden instruments, which should be kept between 40-60% relative humidity, to maximize the lifespan of the Boveda, the 49% packs start at the top of the range � high 50�s � and as they release their moisture end at the bottom of the range � low 40�s.
